If it's a high mileage car and the original and narrow PVC valve you will see a ton of buildup inside that valve cover and that leads to other problems. Just pull it and if it breaks get a new one. When I did mine it pulled out while still connected to the hose iirc.

I would seriously think about pulling that valve cover tho.
Might be a horror show in there.
