Part number updates:
I know this is an old thread, but it's still potentially useful for anyone needing to get rid of the HSA if someone hadn't done it already. I got to thinking about this the other day when HSA got me on a hill in the ZL1. I have never got used to that thing, and ended up leaving a bit of tire marks behind.
There's been reports that a few cars wacked out with traction control, etc., lighting up the dash with all sorts of warnings. 95% of transitioners have reported no issues. Also some said that the ZL1 and LTs/SS's don't use the same sensor. Which apparently nobody told GM. They even list the MT version as fitting Z/28 as well.
As usual, verify with your dealership that you're getting the right part.
GM parts websites lists the following: The ORIGINAL version part number is listed in bold.
Auto Transmissions (this one should get rid of the HSA in your MT car)
13514502
Replaces: 12784982, 13504156, 13505725, 13575612, 13578326
Manual Transmissions (for reference. You should have one of these part numbers already installed.)
13514501
Replaces: 12784983, 13505726, 13575610, 13575611, 13581120
I purchased the 13578326 years ago, but never got a round tuit to getting it done.
IMO, if you need one, perhaps you could find one in a junkyard or ebay with the p/n's above, etc., fairly cheap, as I doubt these ever go bad. Maybe they do? I dunno. They now list for a pretty penny at list price from GM, but normally can still be found for around less than 100 bucks new. Rockauto.com has them as well. Look under Electrical/Yaw Sensor.
Apparently, they used the MT versions in Lacrosse, Terrain, and Regals, and they used the automatic trans version in the 2010-16 Cruze as well, among others. Have no idea where they're located in the car, but under the console is likely a good spot to check.
