Yeah, what makes this worse it that I live in Tennessee and this polar vortex thing may last all the way through January according to some predictions. I'm fairly handy and would take on the project myself if I had a garage and wasn't in the middle of getting my mom moved into an assisted living facility.
I just went through the transmission shudder issue six weeks ago, and a fluid flush fixed that (for now anyway), but the timing on the blend door failure couldn't have happened at a worse time. Fortunately I still have a '99 Mercury Mountaineer (which has never had a major/expensive failure) that will hopefully get me through this.
