I bit the bullet and ordered a new GM fob from a local locksmith who is going to cut and program it for $135 out the door. Also has a “guarantee” that is will work, I’m guessing that’s just a promise to replace it if it doesn’t, but we’ll see.
My current fob does not have the GM logo on it, the locksmith told me the OEM fobs all have the logo. Go figure. At least I’ll have a backup now and will primary use the GM unit.
