Ah, sorta kinda. Shelby has long been considering building an EB GT350, the problem with most of the net world is that it is only now getting wind of where the consideration process was with this car six months ago. To put everything into perspective.
1: Ecoboost as a possible option for a Mustang assembled on the production line has not been a consideration for either the 2011 or 2012 model year for well over a couple of years now. Rumors floated since then have been exactly that.
2: Shelby American has been considering a 3.5L 'EB' powered GT350 for quite some time, if it does happen the motor will crank out quite a few more ponies than the average EB mill and may or may not be tagged as an EcoBoost piece since it may not fit the EcoBoost ethos perfectly. If it happens the car will be built in Vegas, not on the regular Mustang line, and IRS wont be on the table for this car unless and until the GT500 gets it. As for that possibility, right now IRS for the GT500 is still undecided and definitely wont happen for the 2011MY unless somebody has a change of heart and is willing to delay 2011 GT500 production to get it done.
