I'm saying "sacrifice" rather than $$ because people are thinking I just want to shove my $$ in people's face. It's not like that. But I believe that if someone spends his hard earned dollars on something, then he sacrificed a bit of his life for that object. That's simple truth. This thread came about because
a) there seems to be a prevalent thinking that it's okay for a V6 to look like a V8 - which is a thinking that doesn't really work in the rest of the real world
b) I wish GM did a little bit more to differentiate the two cars.

2) As much as I like a custom car, I don't want to do too many conspicuous mods. Probably the only thing I'd do is wheels and a nicer exhaust tip.

That's not the point however. The reason why I am buying a Camaro is because I had an epiphany: it's okay to drive a car that people admire. I'm saying this because most of my friends are family people who drive boring Japanese sedans.

I KNOW that most of you are like me. You all love it when people admire your Camaro. And you sacrificed your life for this car, because you could have gotten a very practical and usable sedan but you took up a space in your garage and paid a little more for a Camaro. You realized that if you can wear a tuxedo to a ball, why can't you drive a nice car for a nice occasion? Why should you drive a boring sedan everywhere you go for every occasion?

So just extend that thinking a little further, and that will apply to V8 vs V6.

I won't buy a Mustang (as good as it is, and as much as I like the styling) because there are so many on the road. I'm thinking that in a few years there might be a whole bunch of Camaros on the road. For those of you who love the Camaro styling - don't you want to have the option of a Camaro that looks different?

When the Z28 eventually comes out, it will probably look hotter than the SS. I'm okay with that, but by the same extension, I wish the SS looked a little hotter than the V6.
Some people also didn't have to sacrifice for their SS. Some people are born into a lot of money, some people worked hard a long time ago and have lots of money now and are just spending it. If you had to sacrifice a lot for this car, then it should mean a lot whether it looks different or not. It looks good to you because you made those sacrifices for it. I'm done in this thread. From here on out im watching!
