wildpaws' $3,385 Z/28 in August 1969 would be $59,875 in today's dollars, so I will go out on a limb and say they are going to come out with one under it!
As for sound and power potential, I watched a GT-R getting a custom tune last week and it sounded plenty mean. The only mods were a cat delete and engine management. Put down 527 hp and 545 tq on a Mustang dyno. Not the same thing of course, but additional power is a lot easier with turbo's.
