The L99 A6 starts you out in 1st gear from a dead stop in all modes except
manual/tap shift.
Regular D (drive) - always starts you out in 1st gear after stopping.
M (Sport mode) - always starts you out in 1st gear after stopping.
M (manual/tap shift mode) - starts you out in 2nd gear after stopping. You must manually tap down into 1st, if you want to start out in 1st gear.
