I was going to post this... but you beat me to it
so I'll add some other details... the LS1 4th gens had two different speed limiters: 115mph for the cars with RS-A tires and 160mph for the cars with Eagle GS-C tires... the governor in the 5th gen will be the same kind of electronic governor that can easily be removed by programs like HPTuners, EFI Live and HyperTech programmers.
I believe the GTOs all had 155mph speed limiters... all of the '06 models I've tuned have had that same limiter.
