i LOVE the LS motors, its even what i do for a living. yet we also drive and do Evos, 911's, M3's, hell even Mini's!
all im saying- ive got a 600+ RWHP truck, it runs 11s on 24" wheels... it gets 19 mpg @ 75 mph. IMO its very impressive and a good example of the blank canvas of an already impressive 400 hp package that is the LS. BUT i have a 2.0 liter cobalt ss i paid less than $20k for brand new, spent $600 and it runs high 12s. gets over 32 mpg on the highway, high 20s in the city. thats all im saying, no insult to the LSx here
