But if people chose black, silver, gray and white so they wouldn't attract police attention, why would they have bought a Camaro in the first place? Why wouldn't they be rockin' that Camry? I have *never* heard anyone say, "Yeah, I chose this color because it won't catch a cop's eye!" Why would you buy a brand new car and, instead of getting the color YOU want, get a color that *might* not get you a ticket as fast? Is a cop really going to miss a '10 Camaro going 110 just because it happens to be black?

So the fact still stands if we weren't talking about the camaro most people would not be defending silver as not being a boring car.

Not a fact at all, but your opinion. What you call boring someone who bought silver might call classical elegance, and your orange garish. Nor do many people think the paint job is the only thing that matters in determining if a car is boring or not.

Thus the co-worker could care less what type of car he was driving and was simply saying silver is a boring color on any car.

Either the co-worker or the op didn't clarify if they meant ANY silver car, or just the color silver itself. I would think if the op was that concerned about her opinion, he would've said, "Yeah, she said it was a hot car but the silver was boring..." or something of that nature if it was the case.

The people defending and taking offence to this are either owners of the color of just can't accpet facts. This is the sole reason these colors sell most on any car from any car line.

You know the SOLE reason a color sells? Somebody give this guy a job in marketing.

As a side note black was my first choice and then I thought to myself that I want a color that stands out and isn't common so I went with IOM.

Oh, and last I looked, the orange Camaro was the second-best selling color.
