And even the Z badge in general...I wouldn't call it watered down - it serves a wide purpose. I don't think the SS badge is "watered down" either. A better description, and probably the issue most people take with SS, is that it was disgraced when they plastered "SS" on a car like the Malibu SS of two years ago.....

I know the Z28 is technically different because it only pertains to the Camaro, but it still shares the "Z" which is supposed to stand for performance.
And don't knock the Malibu SS too much! Those ran low 15s which is on par or better than a lot of the old Z28s and IROC-Zs, and on par with the '96 Impala SS that everyone still raves about. Sure it's FWD, but they ran pretty good for a small econo-car that got high 20s gas mileage.
