I would be highly surprised if multiple states/counties don't have a zr1 or something comparable.
Maryland I know has an older, but fully decked out vette, its painted like our flag.
You guys are forgetting why cops need to have high end sports cars.
1. They are the public, see cops in crap, expect crap, get crap.
2. High speed chase, yes, they could put $80,000 into a $2,000 car, but again, spend the extra amount, and refer back to #1.
3. some cops, pay for them with their own money, a friend of mine has an under cover car, while he has to handle all payments, insurance, and maintenance while on duty is covered.
