It means "being superior, astonishing, incredible". However, it was slower than the Camaro is, while being lighter with similar hp (the same qualities expected of the 5.0L Mustang). Therefore, it was not "setting the world on fire" (compared to the new Camaro)

I'm guessing the reason why it was slower had to be its gearing or tires.
