Imagine the effects of inflation in 20009
As far as the Euro, I don't know about France, but here in Germany a €30k American car that isn't normally sold here would easily be taxed all the way up to €40-50k. Making it cost in the neighborhood of $60,000.
Especially if you consider the taxes based on engine displacement, sales tax, importation tax, etc. Like I said, I don't know about France, but I would imagine it isn't too different than Germany.
