I'm thinking that perhaps the car was not repainted but PART of it was repainted.
What if a rock messed up the hood while in transit, or the truck driver dropped something on the hood. The car gets to the dealer and they swoop it into the body shot for a quick fix before the owner comes in to pick it up.
Knowing camaro owners are a picky lot means they might refuse to take delivery knowing the car was previously repaired or they might ask for a discount. The chances of them fixing some shipping damage and not telling you are pretty high.
It's always best to see the car the day it is delivered to make sure there's no funny business.
