The problem is that GM is not going to just up the camaro HP and TQ power ratings without upping the vette first (or at least at the same time) there will never be a standard V8 camaro making more power then thier flagship. The other thing that people aren't taking into account is gearing.
Right now the SS has pretty poor gearing that is on the side of MPG rather then all out performance. If GM were to offere AT LEAST 3.73s it would help compete if the GT has poor gearing for MPG too.
I could see GM doing some small tweaking to get the LS3 to like 440HP and putting better gears in. That should be enough to stay on top
