Right now the SS has pretty poor gearing that is on the side of MPG rather then all out performance. If GM were to offere AT LEAST 3.73s it would help compete if the GT has poor gearing for MPG too.
I could see GM doing some small tweaking to get the LS3 to like 440HP and putting better gears in. That should be enough to stay on top

There's a link on the first or second page of this thread to a mustang forum where some guy posted his order for a 2011 and it has 3.73's listed as an option.
Also, reading that article they brag a lot about the new motor having "Aftermarket style heads" and "aftermarket style tuned headers" (or something to that effect). This stuff sounds like the cost is going to go up on this car. No matter what they say.
