Here comes an epic 2nd post.

WTF is wrong with some of you Fanboi's on this site. That goes for everyone that is slamming the other person's ride because of what they drive. A little friendly banter is healthy, but some of you guys are nuts!!!!
I understand brand loyalty, but too many of you Camaro owners seem to take things way too personal. The 2011 GT is going to be as fast or faster than the SS. Does it really matter?

And you Mustang guys need to STFU too!!!!!! We are lucky to have this new engine and I firmly believe without the Camaro in the mix (especially kicking the Mustangs ass in sales), this new engine would have never made it into the Mustang.

Here is my take.

ALL OF US SHOULD THANK FORD FOR KEEPING THE MUSTANG ALIVE AFTER GM CANNED THE 4th GENS...........Ford could have pulled out of that business and made the segment go away. That is a big reason why we have the Camaro today. A car which has no doubt set the bar higher in the pony car wars and one I would want in my garage. The Camaro is excellent all around, But..........

So is the Mustang and the Mustang just got better. 412 horse, 390 TQ, 3.73 rear and 200lbs less weight will make this car scream. I think the new mustang will edge out the Camaro by just a .10 or .20 tenths in 0-60, then be about even at the end of the quarter. The Mustang with the live axle will also be a better drag racer than the Camaro.

I have a 2008 Mustang Gt with a Cold Air kit and a Tune. It runs 13.1 at 103 mph in the quarter. Fun car to drive, but has a completely different feel than the Camaro. The Camaro SS I rented was fast, VERY comfortable, and handled extremely well for a rather large and heavy car. The Camaro is a car I could drive coast to coast. Not sure I would want to do that in a Mustang. The Mustang has a raw muscle car feel that the Camaro is lacking. The Camaro is more refined than the Mustang, but I think the Mustang is more fun to drive.

The Challenger I really do not consider a pony car. First of all, the car is huge. It rides like a large sedan, like the 300/Charger it is based off. Quick car, but has way too much weight. It is the "cruiser" of the three cars. The new Mustang will eat it's lunch on the track and I'll believe the 6.4 Hemi is coming when I see it.

As far as the Mustang having no aftermarket support for the new engine, keep dreaming that!!!

Rousch, Steeda, Etc.... are close partners with Ford R&D and I assure you parts to bump this new engine well over 500 horse at the crank are on the way. I have a friend who works for a supplier and he indicated this new engine will respond very well to a tune with another 20-30 horse easily on tap.

This is a good day for those of us who appreciate ALL these cars. The new horsepower wars are on and it will be good for everyone who likes these cars. Enjoy these days because they will not go on forever.

By the way, this news did screw up my plans to order a 2010 SS. I might just wait to see what GM does to counter this.

Remember, your one missed shift away from a loss!!!!!

Ok my rant is over, I feel better now.

Now lets race!!!
