Why would it be a supercharged LS9(too expensive!!!)??? Why not just keep the cheaper LS3??? Seriously...LS9+ supersharger= about 29-30 G's buy them selves trans and exhaust= plus the rest of the Camaro about 16 G's. Z/28 name= 4 G's. If they do all of this the car is gonna cost no less than 60+ thousand dollars!!! Horribly INSANE!!! Why not just keep the LS3 motor and buy a procharger/Kenne Belle/Vortech intercooled supercharger pusing 10+ psi on your modified LS3 SS(now self proclaimed Z/28) motor, get some Z/28 trim/badges sterring wheel etc., new headers/mufflers, get it professionally tuned/dyno'ed, and in the end you'll definitely be pushing no less 600+ Hp and Tq in that brand new EXCLUSIVE TO YOU CHEVROLET CAMARO Z/28!!! I'm pretty sure GM won't be doing this project. It's gonna cost them more and us, and they're just gonna sit in lots. The best way for them to go about it would be to make a seperate package just like shelby does for the GT-500 KR(which you'll definitely eat for lunch!) package. It all depends on the sales of the SS first of all. If they don't go the way GM wants it to there may be no green light for a supercharged LS3/LS9 Z/28 at all people. Sorry but the truth. Lets stop dreaming and think optimistically about this ok.

not to harp on you or anything, but the LS9 engine is a supercharged engine... there's no need to add money to the cost of it for a supercharger, since it comes with one already... and the price of the LS7 and LS9 that are on the GMperformanceparts websites are WAAAAAY high and they make a ton on those motors when sold in the aftermarket... so your math, however rational it is, is flawed.
that said, there will be no Z28 at launch... and I think we all realize that... and I'm fairly certain that if the Z28 nameplate does come back (and God, I hope it does!), we will see it lighter with a normally aspirated V8... maybe a gen5 V8? who knows.
