Well I enjoy the competitive nature of it and goal of improving one's time or assisting someone else; but I also respect a more forgiving car at the track.
We use M&Ps instead of Glocks at work. We converted from the Glock a year ago. I still miss the Glock. It performed as good as the guy next to me with a dirty, dragged throught the dirt Glock and I cleaned and inspected it once a week. The ergonomics are a plus and comfort to shooting for the Glock. All this, I cant say for the M&P Its still makes the mark for qualifying, but going from a 100% to a 90% isnt good for my feelings. But why is that? Both guns are basically spec (capable) the same and M&P trumps in design in even my opinion. The reason is that the Glock was forgiving. If I need to use it, it better hit the target in the time of need. Im still have the same skill set, but I dont want to have adjust style and comfort to insure the same result.
Same for a car. I want something forgiving. Even though its capable, I like to win that race every time. I still prefer a manual because i feel that where driver skill is greatly depended on, but I dont want something else to be hurtle. Kudos on the IRS, but there is a reason to why Mustang guy replace Cobra IRS with rebuilt SRA units besides strength.
