Ok, I have heard people discuss the weight gain. So he is a spin....

MT82 (2011 Mustang GT M6)- 116.84 lbs. (dry weight)

TR3650 (2010 Mustang GT M5)- 120 lbs. (not specified oiled or dry)

No weight gain from Transmission.

4.6L 3v (2010 Mustang GT)- 420 lbs.

4.6L 4v (2001 Mustang Cobra) - 425 lbs.

I found hard to believe but 5 lbs is the difference in the two. A iron block 2v weighs 500 lbs. just to put that into view.

To be nice, and put the mustang side of the discussion with an arm behind there back, lets say the all new 5.0 weighs in at 500 lbs.

So that would add 80 lbs to the 2010's current weight.

Ok, as for suspension lets say track pack is standard and its weight with it to handle that power. That adds 40 extra lbs.

I heard Brembos are in the mix too, so lets replace the 2010 stockers with some 2010 brembos. 20 lbs difference? Ok.

80, 40, 20,...........140. To be extra nice, lets just call it 150lbs.

150lbs added to the current 3534 lbs of a Mustang GT Premium, is.....

...3684 lbs.

Compared to the LS3 Camaro 1SS's curb weight of 3860 lbs. (not even a 2SS, mind you the a GT premium has the like options of a 2SS)

Thats a 176 pound difference.

Using this speculation:

Hp to Weight ratio are this:

Camaro SS = 1:8.9
Mustang GT = 1 : 8.9

Dead even.

For **** and giggles, Tq to Weight ratio:

Camaro SS = 1:9.8
Mustang GT = 1:9.4

Almost even. If such a thing. lol. Obvious the Mustang is lighter

Althought very unaccurate, but since I have the numbers punched up why not just plug it into the 1/4 mile calulator:

Camaro SS = 12.71
Mustang GT = 12.71

Well then. It looks like Ford likes to be dead even......even taking the leather seats, Sync, and etc along for the ride. Keep in mind that was a Premium GT, not a bare bones GT.

Internet speculation is fun.

I know the next factor to be brought up is torque. So the ratio numbers are useless, unless just to show how much effort is being weight is being pulled by every foot/pound
