After a day at the racetrack it became clear that the stock brake pedal was to high and the accelerator pedal was too far away to easily heel-toe shift.
I got some $20 pedals at PepBoys called 3 A racing that I put on. The stock accelerator pedal is made of plastic so I drilled 3 holes in it and mounted the new pedal that has a nice wide reach toward the brake. I removed the thick rubber pads from the brake and clutch pedal- both made of steel and drilled 3 holes to mount the new pedals. The result was the brake is a good bit closer but still just a bit higher than the accelerator pedal-but good enough to heel toe for me.
