How about an octane-selectable tune? On the turbo Cobalts we have it set up so you can switch between the "stock" and "custom" tunes - two distinct tune profiles using either the cruise control master enable switch, or the traction control mode...
Maybe "normal" traction control mode = 87 octane mode
"Competition" traction control mode = 92 octane mode
