I know we all have our own opinions of what is better and whatnot but lets go by the numbers here. What are your thoughts? With more HP will the SS be able to overcome the 246lbs or will the lighter, less powerful GT be able to overcome the HP and edge ahead. Please no people bashing lets keep this thread open this time |
It'll be close. My guess is the 5.0 will come in a shade quicker in the 0-60 times than the SS due to lighter weight. Apparently, this new 5.0 engine only adds 10 pounds to the curb weight of the GT. Similiarly, I think the quarter mile times will be close as well, with the 'stang slightly edging out the Camaro by a couple of tenths of a second. The added HP and displacement should help the GT match the Camaro's trap speeds in the quarter mile.
But head to head, its a driver's race.
