Keep in mind the head designs of today like a bit of backpressure to help extract exhaust from cylinders at low engine loads so another reason for cutouts to be placed in the back rather I have seen many installed up front
Take a look at the links I have posted and you will see where they are mounted for that very reason. And we have seen a consistant 10whp gain and up to 14whp with these.
