So simply switching to M (and the dash indicator shows "S"), it still behaves like an automatic, so if you pull out, and go someplace over 3000 rpms and tap "+", it will go to 4th gear.
If you switch to M then tap to down, dash indicator shows "M1" and you can step up gear by gear, no skipping

Yeah.. It's not really "skipping" gears... it's simply automatically upshifting.... so when you hit the + the car had already shifted to 2nd and 3rd... you hit the + while you were in 3rd...
Other thing you can do is simply hit the - as soon as you put the car in "M"... this will bring up M1 on the display...
