You sound like a pretty responsible person except for the part where you mention your buddies stang. Screw his opinion of your current ride inless he's going to kick in some cash towards replacing it. We all know your feelings and your addiction. So close you can taste it. However, you are under their roof and if at all possible don't screw up that relationship. Back when I used to know everything, I screwed it up and my dad got tired of living with a complete genius. I was booted out between the last day of school and graduation ceremonies. It took years to rebuild a relationship with my parents. We all have to do our own thing but for now I'm going to suggest you put the dream on hold. Get through college, get a job, see if you can still get free room and board and then go order your dream car. Best of luck no matter your decision
