Anyways, I been considering moving east for a while, but every home I find has no fence around the backyard. I have two mastiffs, good behavior and all, but will chase a cat or run up too another dog if they see one, however they have to poo and pee like anything else.
So, how do you guys get around this, do you just let your dogs out and other neighbors accept the fact a dogs pissing in their backyard or front yard?
Where I live we all have gated backyards, I think it's part of code out here.
I know the answer to alot of this, The dog shouldn't go outside if it's not trained off a leash, pick up the crap if its in someones yard, i know all this. Just wondering if it's been a problem for some people and what's the best way around it, my dogs are only inside when I am home, other then that they're outside.
Fences are expensive, some people told me it's offensive to some neighbors to put up a fence when no one else does, As i think it would look funny.
I heard about electric fences, my dogs know for zero pain tolerance to those things, not sure if it would work...
Thanks

My neighbor uses the petsafe shock collar it feels like taking a needle and pricking yourself for 2 seconds.
Before it strikes and the dog gets near the it beeps ( beep beep beep beep )
as he/she gets closer it gets more steadily and faster when its hitting/striking its soliding beeping.
After a few times the dog gets to where he hears the first beep and backs off.
then its like he wont even get near the spot even if you place food in the area.
My neighbor even though he doesnt need to use the collar anymore he puts the collar on the dog as a reminder even though it never gets used as in shocking him.
Me and my neighbor held the collar and walked across the wire before we let the dog. imagine a sharp prick. The dog wont yelp just jump back and look like WTF.
it works everytime.
