I am about to cut the stupid plastic cord on the gas cap because its so distorted i cant get the cap to stay on the little recess on the door. so everytime i refuel the guys let it hang and its starting to leave marks in my paint from the friction. If there is some magical method to this please let me know. stupid design if you ask me

Options I am thinking about is removing the cord so the cap can just be taken off completly and put on the side of the gas pump until filled or make some sort of a more flexible cord to attach to the cap so i can rest it.

Am I the only one with this complaint?
