still holds true IMO, but i bet this didnt happen at break-in?
Ideally, u want to BEGIN break-in with regular oil. but this is not always possible(as will be the Camaro's case, i presume), so ASAP is the best bet.
BUT, you could always switch from Regular to Synthetic afterwards...
im thinkin of TOWing the new Camaro to my place, now that i think about it, then perform the switch
