I see your point and I'm not saying it's the right thing to do on the dealer's part, but that's just the way it is. Unless this guy's dealership has a really nice service manager, I don't see him getting a new O2 sensor for free. The only way I see him getting one is installing the factory manifolds back and saying that when he took it to get inspected or something the shop said he had a bad sensor and when they tried to replace it they stripped it. I would not mention the words longtube headers.
