I actually used the instructions in the owner's manual and my phone sync'd up with no problems or issues. The feature is in the sound system and not a part of OnStar so there aren't any subscription or payment issues.

On the XM, let the 3 month expire totally. Then call XM and ask for the promotions desk. They have a $79/year rate for expired renewals. When you add the fees, taxes, licenses; it will run a touch over $90 for the next full year...about 1/2 of what they try to get from you on the first try. After you renew, get in the car, turn it on and use your cell phone to call XM to send a new signal. If the radio is on, it will take about 2-3 minutes for it to be receiving like it was new.
