The grease comes with the Hawk pads. You apply it under the metal shim and on the backs - sides facing the calipers, NOT the rotors! Mine have not made a peep since I put them on. Although, my stock pads never made a sound...I'll be trying some of the other suggestions next, although I think the Hawk ceramics feel good at this point, and they're not fully bedded in...
