I've read quite a few tests over the years, but never seen that before! I'm guessing this came from Australia; never heard of some of those brands. I am quite curious about their tests, it appears they used tapered roller bearings (which actually turn on the long axis), yet the 'scars' indicate just the opposite, given the striation direction....or am I missing something? Every failed roller bearing I ever saw had damage that didn't look anything like their photos... Also, roller bearings are usually designed for heavier lube than oil...grease to be exact....although there are some really effective wheel bearings that use oil bath, such as on big trucks and some trailers. I guess I'm a little suspicious about their testing procedures...at least I've never seen that done before. Makes me wonder who pays their bills...if you know what I mean. Jury's still out for me as far as oil goes for the Camaro....
