As of right now all I have so far is $500 in savings... But I'm proud of my $500 because I started my savings account recently, like you, for my downpayment. Plus I am paying for books for school and gas and all that good stuff... and I can only work on the weekends since I work 12 hour shifts and I have some credit card bills like Victorias Secret and American Eagle and a cell phone. So yes, I am very proud of my $500 but it will be built up by the time 2009 gets here!
