I pushed my Chevy mini-van past the mustang dealer for over two years waiting for a camaro. I never glanced over at the mustangs once...not once.

What world do you live in? There are tons and tons of people that have switched camps since the Camaro left in 2002. Theres plenty of people like me who while I would not buy the Mustang, I appreciate it. If i got one for free I'd drive it too. Heck if I needed a used car and came across a good deal on one, I might even consider it.
People are not so entrenced in their brand loyalty as we are, theres tons of people out there who want the latest and greatest, or are ready to go Camaor, BMW, Mustang, infiniti, etc they don't care they buy what they like no matter who makes it.

Yeah because the guy mounting the door or hanging the rearend on a 2010 Mustang really went to work in 2002 every day saying "We are gonna shut down those bastards at GM". Its a job, people need to cut the emotional attachment to the car.
