Yes brake fade makes the pedal effort seem harder.
You have found the limitations of the stock braking system.
I think you know what you need to do if you want to keep driving your car like that.
First off, don't attempt that training exercise again, the brakes need airflow across them, other wise they will be trashed soon and your car will sound like the mail carrier's (squeak sqeak)
Secondly, change the brake fluid to that expensive stuff all the track guys use. It's the Castrol stuff I believe, has a higher boiling point.
