That could go on for days.......... but
1. Medical. As a medic for ten years in Los Angeles County transporting and treating individuals who were "undocumented", I have been witness to thousands at the county hospitals receiving FREE (to them but costing you and I) medical treatment. Including emergency and non emergency. Everything from initial contact, treatment, transportation, ER services and follow ups. Runs into the THOUSANDS of dollars per individual. And if you really want to talk expenses, how about anchor babies? Labor and delivery costs, post natal care, WIC entitlements......... Man I could go on.
2. Education. We have a real problem with over crowding in our schools, especially in LA County. A large population of which are anchor babies or flat out undocumented. This increases the financial burden on our education system and our children suffer from oversized classrooms where they can't get the attention they need.
Understand, I don't have a problem with immigration as long as it is controlled so as not to overburden the system to the detriment of all.
Now, we're already off topic for this thread so if you wanna continue this PM me.
P.S.
You questioned my "expertise" but saying you worked in Social Services could mean anything from County janitor at services facility to Director.

just saying
