WOW, I claimed BS 15 seconds or so in.

Battery patents held by the oil companies? GM is going to be making it's own batteries here for the Volt. If we could get 200 miles from a single charge? We'd own the world and WE would be making the profit.

Battery technology is in it's infancy. We are only barely, meaning not in production yet, into the second generation of chemical energy storage, LiION battery. Nickel Metal Hydride is what we use today.

There is no way that the oil companies are preventing the use of batteries. It's the same as the 100 mpg carb from the 70s, pure BS.

Profit isn't the prohibitor, it's the driver. Any auto company today that could build a 200 mile range EV that cost 25,000 or less would make more money that any other. Problem is the cost and technology simply aren't there.

And replace air travel with mag lev trains? Holy cow. Even in Japan they still have air travel between cities.............in 747s that hold 600 passegers. And Japan has tremendous infratstructure for rail and bus transit. Just not true. They use an example but but then avoid the truth about that example.

Nice propaganda film though, IMO.

Technology isn't there. Just isn't there.
