I think the day and age has come where 4 doors isn't a bad thing. The Camaro takes the coupe spot. Build the next Chevelle as the G8 was...and ditch the FWD Impala and don't call it a Malibu that's a camry type vehicle.
GM has hole in their product lineup, no affordable 4 door performance sedan.
Some of us need the passenger space and the 2 seater Camaro doesn't cut it (lets face it the back seats in the camaro are worthless--worse then 4th gen and way worse than the 04+ GTO).

Why ruin the Chevelle especially an SS as a 4 door model? Stay true to form and keep it a 2 door sport coupe and come up with something new as a 4 door. If you want 4 door then maybe an upgrade to the Malibu would be a way to go.
