Seking some advice....

So I don't have to repost the whole story here is the link to the problem with the car.....http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70133

Last time I spoke to my service manager at the dealership was around 4:30 yesterday. They still have no clue what is causing the ticking/knocking noise in the car. They have been going back and forth talking with GM to find the problem. Apparently I'm the first one with this problem, and I'm not meaning in the Camaro but with this engine....GEE just my luck! They have mentioned replacing the engine altogether, this is where I'm looking for advice. Would this hurt the value of the car any, or possibly cause any other problems with the car down the road?? Would I be being to unrational if I demanded they just give me a new car?? It isn't at the point for a lemon law yet this is the first time we have had to take it in for this problem and I honestly do not want to go through that process again (had a 1999 Ford Contour that we lemon lawed within 9 months of buying). They have been great through this whole week keeping me updated at least once a day and gave me a rental without even having to ask for one, wish it was another Camaro but no luck there got a new crew cab silverado...still better than I was expecting for a rental. I just LOVE my car and want it back like it was!!
