Here is mine getting started.

This was the first time I noticed the chevy emblem in the hood insulation.

Factory front:

Factory rear:

Front disassembled:

Rear disassembled:

Front with V6 swap:

Rear with V6 swap:

All done!

Brake bleed pump:

The swap on both cars was mostly simple. If you have your basic hand tools along with the brake bleeder tool and a grinder with a cutoff wheel you will be fine and could have the swap done in less than 4 hours if you have someone to help out a bit.

Everything is a direct bolt on going from Brembo's to V6 brakes on an SS, but upgrading to the Brembo's from the V6 brakes requires cutting of the backing plate on the rear. I cut off most of the lip just to be sure everything would clear. Make sure to swap all the brake lines as they do have different fittings on the caliper side. Calipers, rotors, and lines are the only parts to swap from one car to the other. The front backing plates are the same.

Bleeding the brakes on these cars can be a pain. It took nearly 4 hours to bleed Eric's brakes. half of that was trying to bleed them manually and the other half was using the vacuum pump. The vacuum pump worked great after using a little teflon on the threads for the bleeder screws. You still have to be easy with the teflon on the bleeders because it can still leak if you work the bleeders open and closed too much. My car took one 30 minutes to tear down and 2 hours to put it back together, bleed the brakes, and finally test drive it.

This entire swap is easy and with a bit of help you could do both cars with ease in less than 8 hours. You can find the vacuum hand pump and all other tools at any local auto parts store. The pump itself costs around $60, but I don't see any other way to get all the air out of the system. Make sure to have plenty of brake fluid on hand. We went through 2000ml between both cars. 1500 was completely wasted trying to manually bleed Erics car, lol.
