I was supposedly the second L99 with the Halltech Yellow Jacket. It is an incredible unit. I mean, it works like a champ. I'm considering a supercharger next (not a Maggie), and the one thing that I know I would miss is my Halltech.

The sound it makes with my Corsa exhaust is just plain mean and it really made my car faster by the feel of things.

When I only had the Corsa exhaust my car was very quiet. Now, with the Halltech my car is really loud, but like a perfect loud sound -- kind of deep and throaty.

The heat shield does not fit great on my car. Whatever, though, I'm not getting into that.

Also, the Halltech doesn't come with any significant instructions. And yes, Jim will take like 75% of your calls to try to help you. But I really wanted to know how far the velocity stack is supposed to fit inside of the large air cone filter and Jim couldn't explain that to me. He told me that the velocity stack should push all the way inside of the filter.

As a result I was initially running the unit with my velocity stack pushed all the way inside of the filter and it was of course loose because the metal hose clamp that secures around the neck of the filter was not staying tight and it was sliding off.

Finally, a friend showed me that the velocity stack goes into the neck of the filter just enough to sit almost directly flush underneath the circumfrence of the neck of the filter. The plastic filter neck will envelope the plastic velocity stack. I hope this information proves useful for future Yellow Jacket owners.

Now that my filter neck fits right on top of the velocity stack and is tight on top of it, my car runs amazing. Actually, it ran fine when the filter was loose too. haha It's a durable unit.

Technology being what it is, ONStar sent me my monthly diagnostic check and told me that the air induction side of the test was running perfectly, so obviously Halltech put in some serious work to make sure their unit works perfectly with these cars.

All in all, I would recommend the Halltech unit to anyone that is looking for high quality, excellent sound, and increased performance. Seriously, you won't believe it. You're just going to say, "wow," and shake your head when you put it on.
