I was having the same debate -- but I am slightly older than the OP. ;-)

300 HP is a lot of power - 6.1s for 0-60 is a screamer. I love the idea of saving $7k up front, + tax, + financing + cost of gas (not only in terms of MPG, but the type of gas required) over the time you own the car. In addition to that, you will save money on insurance.

So that $7000 you save initially, works out to be potentially twice that over five years. Somewhere between $12-14,000.

That having been said, the Camaro is not intended to be a practical purchase -- it is a car for those that are passionate about driving. But sometimes practical matters are a concern for even the most passionate of drivers.
