Be sure you use the automotive grade 3M tape, the household stuff won't stand the heat or weather... Any auto parts store carrys it.
Another thing is before you try to line up the letters on the car get some masking tape and line them up on that (face down of course)so you won't have to individually place the letters on the car when you go to put them on, they will be all pre aligned..
