A stock GTO is slower around a road course than a Camaro but not slower in a straight line. This is very true as I explained the camaro has superior brakes, grippy non all season tires etc.
The Camaro is like having two passengers in your car 3700lbs + 160LB driver vs 3902 + 160lb driver. The camaro is over 4,000 Lbs.
You don’t seem to understand what I’m saying. The camaro is a better stock car on the Track not the strip but it is not a superior car once you modify it. The Curb weight of the Camaro harms the cars trackibility. The car doesn’t even have a spare to remove to lighten it not even digging into the deep things. The GTO also has a tow hitch that can be removed etc. The zeta platform of which the Camaro is based is vastly heavier and has been reinforced more for the camaro.
Of course if I’m talking to people know nothing about cars you may Feel slight sting when GTO’s beat you.

Let a owner of both tell you how wrong you are. Curb weight for my GTO 2005 LS2 in stock form 3725, curb weight for my Camaro SS 2010 LS3 in stock form 3849. Get your facts straight first. And this coming from someone who does drag race in stock form highest I had in my Stock GTO was 13.19, in my Stock Camaro SS 12.88. Now as an very experienced racer I know how to get cars to move. You are very bias and I understand its because you love your GTO as do I but lets be real overall its not in the same class. Tell me this how many times before you changed out your stock shifter were you not able to hit 3rd gear in the GTO and how stiff is that clutch. GTO was rushed and not done right, but its still a good car just not as good. and once again
