This point has always been my concern especially if you're running hot on a dry day, and you pass a section of the road that is watering the grass or somehow you splash water on the turbo that is very hot. That can easily crack the metal. I remember once there was this car that it was leaking oil during dyno and oil got on the manifold and caught on fire and some guy who had some water near him poured it on the manifold to kill the fire and I heard the crack. When we looked you could see the crack line on the exhaust manifold.

This is a question that I like to raise to a turbo manufacture, what happens if you pour water when the turbo is hot.
