Not necessarily.
For example, Chevrolet previously used the Monte Carlo. And wayyy back in the 70's, MOPAR used the Charger.
The lack of the publics interest in the "big", "American made" coupe has resulted in the auto manufacturers ceasing in making coupes. Consequently, NASCAR is left with the Impala, Charger/Avenger, and Fusion...all 4-doors.
