I'm in the US Navy and have been stationed in Japan (for 8 years) with my 4th Gen Camaro with me. Now that I've returned to the US for a couple of years I've replaced my 4th gen with a new 2010SS which I plan on bringing back to Japan with me in late 2011.
Of course I'll have already installed the necessary addons (Maybe supercharger as well) before going back as its very difficult to get factory service over there. Not to mention those turbo charged Japanese cars are no joke, some pushing upwards of 700hp. So, if you do bring your 5th gen to Japan, make sure you get your upgrades here before going. 1) it'll be MUCH cheaper and 2) those skylines wont eat you for lunch on the Tomei Expressway...
Also be sure to visit Yokohama Bay Bridge gathering point on Friday and Saturday nights to see some amazing Japanese hotrods.
